The Problem with DMARC

By Phil Reitinger

Okay, let’s admit it.  DMARC is hard to explain.  Try it with your CEO, and her or his eyes will start to glaze over before you finish the second sentence.

But CEOs, CFOs, and CMOs need to know about DMARC.  They are the people who need to understand the business value that DMARC provides. Deploying DMARC isn’t “free” even if the tool you use is, and so implementation of DMARC needs to be balanced against other priorities.  The CIO and CISO already have too much to do – why do DMARC?

The answer is clear.  DMARC protects your brand.  It makes your email more trustworthy.  That is a language a CEO understands.  This video from the Global Cyber Alliance should help.  In less than two minutes, it explains why DMARC is important to protect your domain and your brand, protecting your customers and building your business.  Take a look, and let us know what you think.
