Terry Wilson serves as the Global Partnership Director for the Global Cyber Alliance (GCA), bringing more than 8 years of experience in cyber crime investigation and prevention and 32 years of operational and strategic policing.
Prior to joining GCA, Terry held the position of National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) cyber crime programme lead for four years, working directly with the national policing lead. During this time, he designed, created and implemented the UK’s policing response to cyber crime.
Terry began his career with the Metropolitan Police Service in 1986. He spent most of his career as a detective. Specialist postings with MPS included the South East Regional Crime Squad, MPS Anti-Corruption Command, and Serious and Organised Crime Group – Flying Squad – where he specialised in Armed Robbery investigation at ascending ranks from Detective Sergeant to Detective Superintendent, as well as performing more conventional borough-based roles in those ranks.
From 2009 to 2013, Terry held the post of operational lead for the Police Central e-Crime Unit (PCeU) that was responsible for delivering timely response to serious cyber crime incidents through a public/private partnership initiative. During this time, he also led the cyber policing response to the 2012 London Olympics ensuring cyber safe and secure games.
