As director of operations at GCA, I manage our technology needs and computing infrastructure. I help set IT policy and ensure we have a secure and stable environment to support our activities. I am also involved in specific projects on a varying basis, including serving as project owner for DMARC. I’ve been with GCA since almost the beginning, and what really drew me here is that the GCA mission is so aligned with what I had been doing for the past 12 years at the Multi-State ISAC. The focus here at GCA is on
helping people, not making a profit. What we’re doing is for the greater good, and that really means a lot to me. Part of my role at GCA also includes an educational component, which I really enjoy…whether it’s training our employees on a particular technology, educating users around the world about how to implement DMARC, or raising awareness about cybersecurity threats overall.

What is the best meal you ever had?
I was walking through Little Italy in NYC with my wife and we decided to get dinner. We just picked a random place—I wish I could remember the name—and ended up having the best steak ever! It was cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of hot peppers and spices. But speaking of spices, I once made the mistake of ordering chicken wings at a restaurant in Singapore—I ordered level 4 out of 5, which I thought was on the more mild end of spiciness. I was wrong about that! Their level 4 is about a 9 in the U.S.!! But they were good anyway.
What is on your bucket list?
I’m a huge hockey fan, so I’d love to visit all 30 NHL hockey stadiums. It will be a great thing to do with my kids. I’ve been to five already, so I’m getting there…
