Murray W. Kenyon is Cybersecurity Partnership Executive in Information Security Services at U.S. Bank, the fifth largest commercial bank in the United States. He fosters partnerships with Government, Trade Associations, Information Sharing and Analysis Centers, Educational Institutions, and various other Non-Profits focused on Cybersecurity of the nation’s critical infrastructure. Murray is a seasoned leader of national-level cybersecurity initiatives, with 35+ years of experience, in both the Federal Government and Private Sector, in cybersecurity, geo-political analysis, intelligence operations, information sharing, and critical infrastructure protection.
Prior to joining U.S. Bank, Murray was Senior Vice President for Technology Risk Management at the Financial Services Roundtable (now the Bank Policy Institute), an association of the nation’s largest integrated financial institutions. In leading FSR’s Cybersecurity program, he focused on cyber preparedness, information and technology sharing, shaping cybersecurity legislation and regulations, Cross-Sector and Industry-Government collaboration, and convening experts from the Private and Public Sectors to solve problems facing the Financial Sector.
Before entering the Private Sector, Murray spent 33 years in analytic, staff, and leadership positions at the National Security Agency (NSA). Rising to the Defense Intelligence Senior Executive Service, his responsibilities ranged from operational and technical management, to inter-agency and international liaison, to stakeholder and industry engagement, to overseeing national policy for the secure operation of Federal Government IT and communications systems. He collaborated with Federal law enforcement agencies to organize NSA technical assistance in response to cybersecurity incidents in the Private Sector, worked with the Department of Homeland Security to educate hundreds of industry executives on cyber threats, and collaborated with the Department of the Treasury and Financial Regulatory agencies to enhance the cybersecurity of the Financial Sector. He also organized NSA participation in cybersecurity exercise programs between the Government and Financial Sector.
Murray received his Bachelor of Arts from Asbury University, and earned Master of Science degrees from the Joint Military Intelligence College and the National War College. He serves on the Advisory Boards for cybersecurity education programs at New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering, the University of West Florida’s Center for Cyber Security, Carroll County (Maryland) Community College, and is a member of the National Visiting Committee for the National Cybersecurity Training and Education Center.
