Op-ed: Facing the Primary Attack on Democracy
With the presidential election less than a year away, U.S. officials have repeatedly warned of outside interference. In an opinion piece published in The Hill, Phil Reitinger, GCA’s President and CEO, and Emily Frye, the Director for Cyber Integration at MITRE, discuss the forms this interference takes and the best ways to confront it. In order to defend against disinformation campaigns, they write, more attention must be paid to the state and local level, as these are the “front lines” in our fight against election meddling.
